Pulled Brisket Toastie
A weekday lunch that tastes like it took a lot longer than it did.
Ingredients
- —250g Symi's Plain Pulled Brisket
- —1 large onion, thinly sliced
- —1 tbsp butter
- —1 tsp brown sugar
- —4 slices sourdough
- —100g cheddar, grated
- —1 tbsp BBQ sauce
- —Butter, for the pan
Method
- 1.
Heat the brisket according to pack instructions and shred if needed.
- 2.
Melt the butter in a frying pan over low heat. Add the onion and a pinch of salt and cook slowly for 12-15 minutes, stirring often, until soft and golden.
- 3.
Stir in the brown sugar and cook for a further 2 minutes, then remove from the pan.
- 4.
Mix the warm brisket with the BBQ sauce. Layer onto two slices of sourdough with the caramelised onion and cheddar, then top with the remaining slices.
- 5.
Butter the outside of each sandwich and toast in a hot pan for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden and the cheese has melted.
- 6.
Slice and serve immediately.
